When the first snows begin to fall in November, area teachers often observe an urgent need for basic cold weather gear in their classrooms. UWRC partners with community donors to provide outerwear to the children of Rutland County by collaborating with area schools to identify and distribute according to need.
In the winter 2023/24 program, over 100 students across 5 schools and 3 districts within Rutland County received new jackets and snow pants. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our Rutland County donors for making this possible!
Get Involved:
- Donate: UWRC is currently seeking new or gently used winter jackets and snow pants for our upcoming Welcome to Winter program. We need sizes for children K-12.
- Cleaning Partner: We’ve recently partnered with Modern Cleaners on 5 Strongs Ave to professionally clean all winter coat and snow pant donations.
- Drop-Off: Donations can be dropped off at Modern Cleaners. Please inform them that the items are for the United Way of Rutland County, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Donation Deadline: Donations will be accepted through October 24, 2024.
Thank you for helping us keep our community’s children warm this winter!
